After doing some lurking...I was wondering what your opinions are of a thriller/suspense without any background ocestral music, as I am very limited in my budget.
IF done correctly, it might make the thing very scary. But that's very hard. Music always helps a lot for supsense.
You don't even need fancy sound scores. There are lots of cd's which offer their own sounds (fx/music etc) for free. Like magix soundpool. Or you could go with strings all the time of course. Or a faint background echoing noise. But if you really want to let the audience to know there's something scary happening, pick up a mic and sing your own score. "Ooh its scary. Something scary is happening here. Very scary. This is a very scary, momeeeeent". I did that for my last flick and it helped immensely.

Search around for independent bands that have released their own music, they'll always let you put their tracks on films for free.
If you are still looking EP then there are plenty of us out there who write music and will do it for the creds - if you want to e-mail me a brief/rough idea of what you are looking for I can send you some samples/ideas to see if you like it - can't stretch to orchestral just yet but can certainly come up with decent suspence/thriller soundscapes!
Anybody else out there who needs music for projects drop me a line.

The buoycott canada advert is a shameless attempt from the Americans to make their neighbours look bad. As if they can talk.
The issue doesnt actually have much humour in it, but the other day at my local cinema there was a twenty second long propaganda piece about how the world should stop buying candadian goods because apparently they are evil.
A bit off topic and slightly ott. Sorry. Feeling tired and emotional.
